# Sales Tax

You can charge a different sales tax for:

* each State or [city/county/municipality](/live-examples/miscellaneous/sales-tax/tax-based-on-zip-code.md) you deliver to
* the State where clients pickup their order
* the type of item that's ordered (i.e different tax for Food vs Alcohol)

You can also mark clients at [tax-exempt](/live-examples/miscellaneous/sales-tax/tax-exempt-clients.md) if you need to.
